NYC's First White Christmas in 15 Years!
New York City woke up to its first official White Christmas in 15 years! A blanket of snow covered Central Park, meeting the National Weather Service's minimum requirement of 1 inch of snow on the ground Christmas morning.
The last time NYC saw a White Christmas was in 2009. This year's snowfall, a result of light snow Tuesday, created a festive atmosphere across the city. While Central Park reported 1 inch, other areas saw higher totals, including:
- Port Jervis: 2.5 inches
- Glen Spey: 2 inches
- Sussex, NJ: 1.9 inches
- New Paltz: 1.5 inches
- Danbury, CT: 1.2 inches
Enjoy the sunny skies and warmer temperatures predicted for the next couple of days, but be prepared for wet weather this weekend. Rain is possible on Saturday and Sunday.
