NYC & LA Witness Violent Anti-ICE Protests
Following ICE raids in Los Angeles and New York City, violent protests erupted, leading to clashes between demonstrators and law enforcement.
Los Angeles: A City Under Siege
In Los Angeles, the situation escalated rapidly. Over 1,000 rioters surrounded the Roybal Federal Building, assaulting ICE agents, vandalizing property, and even attempting a forced entry. The LAPD declared an unlawful assembly and issued a city-wide tactical alert.
The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) criticized the LAPD's response time, stating it took two hours to respond to multiple calls. DHS also highlighted a 413% increase in assaults against ICE agents and reported instances of agents' family members being targeted.

New York City: Protests and Arrests
In New York City, anti-ICE protesters gathered outside the Jacobs Javits Federal Building. The NYPD responded to reports of a disorderly group blocking traffic. Five people were arrested after refusing to comply with police orders to clear the roadway.

Federal officials strongly condemned the violence and accused certain Democrat politicians of inciting the unrest through their rhetoric against ICE. DHS Secretary Kristi Noem and ICE officials issued stern warnings, emphasizing that attacks on law enforcement would be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. This week's nationwide ICE operations resulted in the arrest of 2,000 illegal immigrants.
