Thousands Protest Israel in NYC
On Saturday, New York City witnessed one of the largest pro-Palestinian protests in recent months, with several thousand participants gathering in front of the New York Public Library.
Organized by various Arab-led and left-wing groups, the demonstration, titled "Stop Starving Gaza: Mass March for Humanity," saw protesters carrying signs demanding an end to the conflict and the blockade of Gaza. Many chanted slogans condemning the Israeli government and US support for the conflict.

Prominent activist Mahmoud Khalil, recently released from federal detention, addressed the crowd, accusing Israel of deliberately destroying Gaza with the aid of American tax money. Brian Becker of the Answer Coalition stated that the US government is supporting Israel while the American people stand with the Palestinians.

This large-scale protest follows a period of decreased similar demonstrations in NYC. Activists are planning a series of rallies ahead of the United Nations General Assembly in September.
