NYC AG Letitia James Facing Fence Fine and Mortgage Fraud Investigation
New York Attorney General Letitia James is facing a $500 fine for a fence that's too tall at her Brooklyn brownstone. This comes as she's also under investigation for federal mortgage fraud.

Councilman Robert Holden criticized the situation, stating that all public officials should follow the rules.
James has until September 26th to remove or lower the fence to avoid the fine. Neighbors expressed surprise, with one suggesting the fence predated James' 2001 purchase. The investigation centers around allegations of mortgage fraud, involving falsified records to secure favorable loan terms on both the Brooklyn and a Virginia property. James has dismissed these claims as "baseless", linking them to her legal battles with President Trump.

She has not responded to requests for comment.
