One of Los Angeles's best-known celebrity hangouts now has a New York room. Lady Delilah, a supper club from the LA hospitality company The h.wood Group, opened on Tuesday, Nov. 3, at 353 W. 14th St., near Ninth Avenue, on the edge of Chelsea and the Meatpacking District, according to its website and Eater NY.
h.wood co-founders John Terzian and Brian Toll opened the first Delilah in Los Angeles in 2016, Eater reported. The group's spots are known for drawing stars and for a strict no-photos policy, which Eater says the New York location keeps. Lady Delilah is the brand's fifth location, after Los Angeles, Las Vegas, Miami and Dallas, and its first in New York. The opening also falls on Delilah's 10-year anniversary, Restaurant Hospitality News reported.
The room
The club fills a 10,000-square-foot underground space designed to evoke the 1920s. Guests come in through an arched white-tile entrance modeled on the city's subway stations. Inside are vintage oak finishes, plush upholstered seating, chandeliers and tiled barrel-vaulted ceilings. The main dining room has a full stage for live entertainment every night, and there are two private dining rooms, according to Restaurant Hospitality News.
The menu
Michael Teich, The h.wood Group's culinary director, oversees a menu that leans modern American bistro, with cocktails, high-end spirits and bottle service at the bar. Prices on the posted dinner menu include:
- Raw bar: half a dozen oysters with Asian pear and Fresno chile granita, $28. Seafood tower with Maine lobster, oysters, shrimp, ceviche and Jonah crab claws, $115 for two to four or $215 for four to six. Osetra caviar service, $135.
- Starters: pigs in a blanket made with wagyu beef franks, $26. Chicken tenders with Zab's hot honey, $29. A truffled "100-layer potato," $29. Lobster thermidor fritters, $37.
- Sushi: a Spicy Lady roll, $31, and baked lobster crispy rice with osetra caviar, $37.
- Entrées: Glacier 51 sea bass, $61. Lobster scampi fettuccine, $73. Roasted fluke with caviar beurre blanc, $81. Duck two ways for two to four, $142.
