Magnolia Bakery opens its first Staten Island shop Tuesday at Hylan Commons in New Dorp

The Manhattan-born bakery, known for its banana pudding and cupcakes, opens its first borough storefront on Tuesday, Nov. 3, with a 10 a.m. ribbon cutting in New Dorp, the Staten Island Advance reported. The shop opens to the public after the ceremony.

What to expect
The listing promises a variety of desserts baked in small batches by the store team. Magnolia's own new store openings page lists Hylan Commons, Staten Island, among its upcoming shops and invites customers to sign up for opening details.
The bakery, whose "Sex and the City" connection helped make it a destination, is moving into one of Staten Island's busy retail corridors, and the New Dorp shop is its first traditional storefront in the borough, the Advance said.
Expect a line on opening morning. If you would rather skip it, the shop is open the rest of the day.
