NYC Pride Tragedy: Teens Shot Near Stonewall Inn
On Sunday night, as NYC Pride celebrations concluded, two teenage girls were shot near the historic Stonewall Inn in Greenwich Village. This shocking incident cast a shadow over the joyous celebrations.
The Incident
The shooting occurred in Sheridan Square just after 10 p.m. A 16-year-old girl suffered a gunshot wound to the head and is in critical condition. A 17-year-old girl was shot in the leg and is in stable condition. Both were rushed to local hospitals.

The NYPD is investigating the shooting and it's currently unclear whether it was a hate crime. No suspect has yet been identified. Mayor Eric Adams expressed his sadness and devastation over the incident, stating that such violence is unacceptable during a time of celebration.
