About this event
Don't toss the jack-o'-lantern. Queens Botanical Garden invites families to bring their Halloween pumpkins, jack-o'-lanterns and gourds to the QBG Compost Yard on Sunday, Nov. 1, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. and smash them. The garden's compost team then turns the remains into compost that improves soil all over Queens. There will be refreshments and activities. The event is free if you bring your own pumpkin, runs rain or shine, and is drop-in: registration is recommended but walk-ins are welcome. The garden is on Main Street in Flushing, a walk from the Main Street 7 train station.
