Canstruction NYC at Brookfield Place
About this event
Teams of architects, engineers and contractors have turned thousands of unopened food cans into giant sculptures for Canstruction, on view across Brookfield Place in Lower Manhattan. The free exhibition runs daily from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. through Monday, Nov. 9, closing at 6 p.m. on the final day. Every can is later donated to City Harvest. Visitors can drop off canned food at the information table in the Winter Garden, vote for the People's Choice award and pick up a kids' activity sheet. Free guided tours run Wednesday, Nov. 4, at 5:30 p.m., Thursday, Nov. 5, at noon and Saturday, Nov. 7, at 11 a.m., with pre-registration required. Jurors this year include Van Leeuwen Ice Cream co-founder Ben Van Leeuwen.
