About this event
The TCS New York City Marathon runs Sunday, Nov. 1, and ABC7 reported this week that New York Road Runners has named the professional field, including returning champions in the men's, women's and wheelchair divisions. NYRR's race-day guide says runners start from Fort Wadsworth on Staten Island and cross the Verrazzano-Narrows Bridge. There is no spectator viewing at the start or on the bridge, but cheering along the route through the five boroughs is free; one suggested spot is Fourth Avenue in Brooklyn, miles 2 to 4. WABC-TV carries the race live from 8 to 11:30 a.m.
