Election Day School Holiday in Prospect Park
About this event
With city schools closed for Election Day on Tuesday, Nov. 3, the Prospect Park Alliance fills the day with family programs. At the Prospect Park Audubon Center, free drop-in Leaf Art and Leaf Litter activities run from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., and a Fall Leaf Discovery walk leaves the center promptly at 2 p.m. for some hands-on citizen science on why trees drop their leaves. Lefferts Historic House is open free from noon to 4 p.m. with exhibits and activities on the Indigenous peoples of Lenapehoking and the Africans enslaved by the Lefferts family. The park's carousel at Children's Corner spins from noon to 5 p.m. for $3 a ride or $13 for five.
