NYC Mayor's Race: Zohran Mamdani Scores Huge Win with UFT Endorsement!
The United Federation of Teachers (UFT), a powerful New York City union, has officially endorsed Zohran Mamdani in the mayoral race. This major endorsement comes from the UFT's delegate assembly, its highest decision-making body.

Mamdani's platform focuses on making NYC safer and more affordable for working and middle-class families. He also plans to address key issues like universal childcare, improved public transportation, and rent control.
This endorsement follows others from the Manhattan Democratic Party, the Hotel and Gaming Trades Council, the New York State Nurses Association, and the New York City Central Labor Council, AFL-CIO. Mamdani is clearly building significant momentum.
Meanwhile, former Governor David Paterson urged Eric Adams and Andrew Cuomo to consolidate their efforts and focus on defeating Mamdani to avoid splitting the vote. However, both Adams and Cuomo seem hesitant to step aside.
Mamdani's campaign responded to this suggestion by highlighting the substantial support he's already received, securing the most votes for any Democratic primary candidate in 36 years.
Key Promises:
- Affordable NYC: Mamdani's campaign focuses on creating a more affordable city for all.
- Universal Childcare: A key part of his platform is establishing universal childcare services.
- Improved Public Transport: Mamdani aims to significantly improve the city's bus system.
- Rent Freeze: He proposes a rent freeze for millions of New Yorkers.
