About this event
The 42nd Annual Bronx Veterans Parade steps off Sunday, Nov. 8, at noon from Lafayette and East Tremont avenues in Throggs Neck. The Bronx Times says the route runs down East Tremont Avenue to Randall Avenue, to Ellsworth Avenue, then to the Throgs Neck Expressway service road. Grand marshal is retired U.S. Army Staff Sgt. JonPaul Conover; eight honorary grand marshals and a tribute to 102-year-old WWII Navy veteran Santiago Rodriguez Jr. are planned. Participants include the SUNY Maritime College marching band, FDNY, NYPD, local schools and Bronx County American Legion posts. The parade marks America's 250th anniversary and the 50th anniversary of Bicentennial Veterans Memorial Park.
