Washington Heights Home Invasion Leads to Fatal Fall
A horrifying home invasion in Washington Heights resulted in the death of a 73-year-old man, Jacinto Remigio, after he fell from his sixth-floor apartment window. The incident, which occurred early Saturday morning, is currently under investigation by the NYPD.
The Crime
Police are searching for three suspects who broke into Remigio's apartment. Surveillance footage shows one suspect using the elevator to reach the sixth floor, where he was joined by two others who climbed up the fire escape. Once inside, the suspects tied up Remigio's 40-year-old son and stole $8,000 in gold and $200 in cash. While the son was unharmed, Remigio was found on the scaffolding below, having fallen from the window. He was later pronounced dead at Harlem Hospital.
