Tunnel to Towers 5K Run & Walk NYC: Everything You Need to Know
This Sunday, the 23rd Annual Tunnel to Towers 5K Run and Walk will take place in New York City, with an expected 40,000 participants. The race follows the path fallen FDNY Firefighter Stephen Siller ran on 9/11, honoring his sacrifice and supporting the Tunnel to Towers Foundation.

The race begins in Brooklyn near the entrance of the Hugh L. Carey Tunnel and ends at West Street and Murray Street in Manhattan. The 3.5-mile course is shown in this map:
Road Closures for the Race
- The Hugh L. Carey Tunnel will be closed from 7:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Sunday.
- Several streets in Manhattan and Brooklyn will be closed during the event. You can find a full list of road closures here.
Race Start Time & Registration
The race starts at 9:30 a.m. on Sunday. Registration for the event closed on Saturday, so you can't register on the day of the race.
Transportation to and From the Event
- The Tunnel to Towers Foundation is offering free water taxi service from the Pier 11/Wall Street Terminal in Manhattan starting at 6 a.m. Participants must be in line by 7:30 a.m.
- Free transportation back to Brooklyn from Pier 11 is available for participants with a race bib.
- Parking is limited, so the foundation encourages participants and spectators to use public transportation.
About the Stephen Siller Tunnel to Towers Foundation
The Tunnel to Towers Foundation provides mortgage-free homes to Gold Star families and the families of fallen first responders. They also organize the annual Tower Climb, where participants climb 104 stories inside One World Observatory.
