Tragedy Strikes NYC Bride-To-Be: Groom Killed in Wrong-Way Crash Days Before Wedding

A Bride's Worst Nightmare: Groom Killed in Wrong-Way Crash Days Before Wedding
Shauntea Weaver was preparing for her dream wedding, scheduled for Sunday. But a devastating wrong-way crash on the Henry Hudson Parkway in Manhattan shattered her hopes and left her heartbroken.
Just before 2:20 a.m. Saturday, a pick-up truck was traveling southbound in the northbound lanes of the parkway when it collided head-on with a Dodge sedan, killing both occupants. The driver of the sedan, Kirk Walker, Jr., was Weaver's fiancé, and he was supposed to be walking her down the aisle just days later.
Walker, Jr. and his 40-year-old cousin were both tragically killed in the crash. Weaver expressed her immense grief, stating, "I feel like I'm watching a fictitious TV show. Doesn't seem real to me."
Authorities are still searching for the driver of the pick-up truck, who fled the scene after the crash. The passenger of the truck was apprehended.
Instead of celebrating their wedding, Weaver and her family and friends gathered in Bergenfield, New Jersey, to mourn Walker, Jr., and offer condolences. Walker, Jr. leaves behind three children who are now without a father.
This heartbreaking tragedy serves as a stark reminder of the fragility of life and the devastating impact of reckless driving.
