Rockefeller Center Christmas Tree Arrives In NYC: A 74-Foot Spruce Signals The Start Of The Holiday Season

The Rockefeller Center Christmas Tree Has Arrived! 🎄

The holiday season has officially kicked off in New York City with the arrival of the iconic Rockefeller Center Christmas Tree. This year's towering conifer is a 74-foot Norway spruce, making it one of the largest trees to grace the plaza. It was transported from West Stockbridge, Massachusetts, where it was donated by the Albert family.

The tree was hoisted into place by a crane on Saturday, attracting a large crowd of excited onlookers who snapped photos and cheered as it was secured. It's the first time a Massachusetts tree has been chosen since 1959.

A Sparkling Spectacle Awaits

The tree will be adorned with over 50,000 multicolored LED lights, creating a dazzling display that will illuminate the plaza. A stunning Swarovski star crown, glittering with 3 million crystals, will top the majestic tree.

The Tree's Journey From Farm To Plaza

The journey of the Rockefeller Center Christmas Tree is always a fascinating event. The Albert family, the tree's donors, said goodbye to their beloved spruce on Thursday morning. It was carefully loaded onto a flatbed truck and transported the 140-mile (225-kilometer) distance to its new home in Manhattan.

Get Ready For The Lighting Ceremony!

The grand lighting ceremony is scheduled for December 4th, a highly anticipated event that draws thousands to Rockefeller Center. After the holidays, the tree will be milled into lumber and donated to Habitat for Humanity, ensuring its legacy continues to spread joy and warmth.

Prepare For The Holiday Season

The arrival of the Rockefeller Center Christmas Tree is a powerful symbol of the holiday season. As the city begins to deck its halls, the tree stands tall, a beacon of hope and joy for New Yorkers and visitors alike.
