RFK Jr.'s Residency Under Scrutiny: Is He Really a New York Candidate?

RFK Jr.'s Residency Under Fire: A New York Presidential Candidate Living in California?
Robert F. Kennedy Jr., the independent presidential candidate, is facing intense scrutiny over his actual residency. A lawsuit filed on behalf of several voters seeks to remove him from the New York ballot, arguing he listed a Katonah, NY address on the petition while living in Los Angeles since 2014.
Kennedy insists his move to California was temporary to be with his wife, actress Cheryl Hines, and he plans to return to New York, his long-time home. However, his testimony in court raises questions about his true intentions. He was challenged by the attorney, Keith Corbett, about his family and pets moving to California, and the authenticity of his driver's license registration.
Corbett even presented evidence of Kennedy's federal statement of candidacy listing a Los Angeles address and pointed out the candidate's belongings and pets had been moved from New York to California. While Kennedy insists his move was temporary and he plans to return, the evidence presented paints a different picture.
The lawsuit is supported by Clear Choice PAC, a super PAC associated with supporters of Democratic President Joe Biden. This suggests a political motivation behind the legal challenge, aiming to potentially hurt Kennedy's campaign and benefit the Democratic candidate. The judge will decide the outcome without a jury.
This case highlights the importance of residency requirements for candidates, and raises questions about the legitimacy of Kennedy's candidacy in New York. While he claims his move was temporary and his intention was to return, the evidence presented suggests otherwise.
