<img src="https://www.amny.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/07/20240722_135341.jpg?w=1200" alt="Most relaxing subway ride in NYC">A recent report by CPAP.com has declared the Q train the most relaxing subway line in New York City. The study analyzed 23 subway lines, considering factors like air conditioning, on-time performance, seating capacity, and station amenities.
What Makes the Q Train So Relaxing?
The Q train boasts several features contributing to its relaxing reputation:
- Excellent On-Time Performance: With a 96.1% on-time operation rate, you're less likely to experience frustrating delays.
- Ample Seating: The Q train offers more seats per car (60) than the average (42).
- Effective Air Conditioning: Ensuring a comfortable ride, even during the hottest summer days.
Runners-Up and Other Findings
While the Q train claimed the top spot, the shuttle trains (42nd Street, Franklin Avenue, and Rockaway Park) and the 1 train also ranked highly. Interestingly, the G train, despite having nearly 100% on-time operation, scored lowest due to a lack of amenities at its stations.
The study also included a global comparison of metro stations, ranking NYC's at 14th place, with Sydney Metro taking the top spot.
It's important to remember that while the Q train provides a relatively stress-free commute, sleeping on the subway is against MTA rules and can result in a $50 fine!
