NYC's Jungsik Restaurant Makes History: First 3-Michelin-Star Korean Restaurant in the US!

NYC's Culinary Scene Gets a Michelin Star Makeover
The 2024 Michelin Guide has awarded Jungsik, a Korean restaurant in New York City, its first three Michelin stars in over a decade. This is a huge accomplishment, making it the first Korean restaurant in the US to receive this prestigious honor and the first new three-star restaurant in NYC since 2012!

Jungsik, helmed by Executive Chef Daeik Kim, offers modern interpretations of traditional Korean cuisine. Michelin praised the restaurant's "impeccably executed and enormously satisfying" dishes, highlighting creations such as "slivers of raw striped jack with white kimchi" and "gorgeously crisped octopus with gochujang aioli."

Jungsik joins an elite group of NYC's three-Michelin-starred restaurants, including Eleven Madison Park, Le Bernardin, Masa, and Per Se.
Other notable mentions from the awards:
- Two-Star Additions: César, Chef’s Table at Brooklyn Fare, and Sushi Sho.
- One-Star Additions: Bar Miller, Cafe Boulud, Corima, Joo Ok, La Bastide by Andrea Calstier, Noksu, Shota Omakase, and Yingtao.
- Michelin Green Star: One White Street received a Green Star for its sustainable practices.
