Rockefeller Center Christmas Tree: Farewell and Future

The dazzling lights of the Rockefeller Center Christmas Tree have dimmed for the final time this year. After its last shining moments, the 11-ton Norway Spruce, hailing from Massachusetts (the first from that state since 1959!), is being taken down. But its journey doesn't end there!

The Tree's Transformation

The tree's journey from holiday icon to something new is quite interesting.

• Once removed, it's cut into lumber in New Jersey.
• Each piece is stamped with the Rockefeller Center brand.
• The wood is then donated to Habitat for Humanity, where it's used to build homes.

This shows how the tree continues to spread joy and cheer even after the holiday season ends.
