New York City experienced its first major winter storm of 2025 on Monday. While initially causing concern, the snowfall ended up being lighter than anticipated.
Snowfall and Impacts
Light snow fell across the city, primarily in the late morning and afternoon. The National Weather Service reported that accumulating snow mostly ended by Monday afternoon. While most roads remained wet, some untreated surfaces might have become icy.
According to FOX 5 NY's Audrey Puente, the snow was "light for the most part." Southern portions of New Jersey experienced heavier snowfall.
