Blue Man Group's Farewell to NYC
After a remarkable 34-year run, the iconic Blue Man Group show will be saying goodbye to its New York City home. The final performance at the Astor Place Theater in lower Manhattan is scheduled for February 2nd, 2025.

Managing director Jack Kenn expressed gratitude for the cast, crew, and creative team, highlighting their dedication in making the show a beloved success story with over 17,000 performances. The show's unique blend of mime, percussion, physical comedy, and paint splattering captivated millions.
Expansion and Future
Initially conceived in New York in 1991, the Blue Man Group expanded globally, with shows in cities including Las Vegas, Orlando, Boston, Chicago, and Berlin, as well as a touring show and a presence on Norwegian Cruise Line. Acquired by Cirque du Soleil in 2017, this expansion further cemented the group's success.

While the New York and Chicago shows will conclude (Chicago's last performance is on January 5th), performances in other cities will continue. The reason for the closure of the New York and Chicago shows has not been publicly announced. There's a possibility of extending the final performances, as is common with long-running shows.
This closure follows the end of another off-Broadway institution, "Stomp," in 2023, which attributed its closure to declining ticket sales.
