NYC's Blue Man Group Announces Farewell After 30-Year Run!

Blue Man Group's Farewell to NYC After 30 Years
After over three decades of electrifying performances, the iconic Blue Man Group is saying goodbye to its New York City home. The group, known for its vibrant shows filled with paint splattering, drumming, and unique antics, will perform its final show in February 2025.
The group's New York run began in 1991 at the Astor Place Theatre. The announcement comes as many NYC theaters struggle with dwindling ticket sales and smaller audiences. While the New York and Chicago shows are ending, performances will continue in other cities, including Las Vegas, Boston, and Berlin.
Jack Kenn, managing director of Blue Man Group, shared his gratitude in a statement: “I am honored and humbled to be part of the historic evolution of Blue Man Group, which started in New York back in 1991, and so it is with deepest gratitude to announce the final performances in Chicago.”
The reasons for the closure haven't been publicly stated. This marks the end of an era for New York City's performing arts scene. Cirque du Soleil acquired Blue Man Group in 2017.
