
NYC Blizzard Warning: Up to a Foot of Snow Possible This Weekend!
Get ready, NYC! A major winter storm is hitting the tri-state area this Sunday, bringing with it the potential for the biggest snowfall in years.
Snow Forecast:
- NYC Metro Area: 3-5 inches of snow expected.
- Inland Areas (NJ, Upper Hudson Valley, CT): 5-8 inches of snow likely.
- Higher Elevations (NW NJ, CT hills, Northern Hudson Valley): Up to a foot of snow possible!

Timeline:
- Light snow starts: Around 11 a.m. Sunday, especially in the city.
- Heavy snow begins: Early afternoon. Rain may mix with snow initially, particularly near the coast.
- Worst of the storm: 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. with heavy snow bands. Expect dangerous travel conditions!
- Snow tapers off: 9 p.m. to midnight.
Extreme Cold to Follow:
- Temperatures will plummet after the storm, leading to icy roads.
- Dangerously cold temperatures: Teens and 20s next week, with single-digit lows and sub-zero wind chills. Tuesday through Thursday will be the coldest.
New Jersey Governor Phil Murphy declared a state of emergency. The MTA is monitoring the situation but hasn't announced service changes (yet).
