NYC Winter Weather Alert: Will We Get a Snow Day This Friday?
New York City might be seeing a wintery mix this Friday, but don't get your hopes up for a major snowstorm just yet. A special weather statement is in effect for parts of the city, particularly the Bronx and Queens, due to a rain/snow mix.
While roads could get messy during the Friday evening commute, the National Weather Service predicts less than an inch of snow accumulation in NYC. Long Island is expected to receive even less. Areas north and west of the city might see over an inch. Sadly, building a snowman is likely out of the question.
Temperatures are expected to plummet this weekend, dropping into the 20s and 30s. Some schools in NY and NJ have already announced early dismissals.
