NYC Winter Storm Warning: Wintry Mix and Freezing Rain Expected Monday!
The Tri-state area is bracing for a wintry storm bringing a mix of precipitation and potentially freezing rain on Monday morning. This is a First Alert Weather Day.
Sunday's Forecast
Sunday will be cloudy with highs in the upper 30s to around 40 degrees. Precipitation will approach from the west after sunset.
Wet weather is most likely after 10 p.m. Sunday into Monday morning. Areas north of NYC can expect a wintry mix, with light snow possible in higher elevations (Sullivan and Ulster counties).
Monday's Wintry Mix
A First Alert Weather Day is in effect for Monday due to the risk of a wintry mix and freezing rain north of the city during the morning commute. Winter Weather Advisories have been issued for Rockland, Sussex, and Warren counties, and points northward.
The storm will be quick-moving, exiting by or soon after the end of the Monday morning commute. Rainfall totals are expected to be between 0.5 and 1 inch.
