For over two decades, photographer Joseph Michael Lopez has been walking the streets of New York City, capturing fleeting moments that define the urban experience. His new book, JML NYC 02-23, is a collection of these intimate and often unexpected glimpses into the city's soul.

Lopez's photos are not about iconic landmarks or predictable scenes. Instead, they focus on the everyday encounters, the human connections, and the subtler nuances that make New York City such a unique place.

His work is deeply personal and reflects his own journey of self-discovery. In his words, these photos are 'less about the city as a place, and more about what the city is in my mind, and in my heart: the emotions, the questions, the desires I’ve experienced and discovered.'
