
NYC Subway Stabbings: Manhunt for Repeat Offender
Jamar Banks, a 52-year-old man with an extensive criminal record (87 prior arrests), is wanted by the NYPD in connection with at least two subway stabbings. Police have warned officers to exercise extreme caution when approaching him, as he is considered armed and dangerous.
The Attacks
The first stabbing occurred on January 1st on a No. 2 train. Banks allegedly stabbed a 31-year-old man in the back after an argument. The second incident took place on January 2nd at the Pelham Bay station in the Bronx, where an off-duty MTA cleaner was stabbed in the back and armpit.
Both victims survived and are in stable condition. Surveillance footage allegedly shows Banks wielding a large knife while wearing gloves.

Banks' extensive rap sheet includes arrests for attempted murder, weapons possession, assault, and other serious offenses. He has a history of violent behavior dating back to at least 1997, including an incident where he allegedly shot a man in the leg.
