NYC Solves the Pizza Box Dilemma: New Trash Cans Just for Your Slices!

NYC Gets Dedicated Trash Cans for Pizza Boxes! 🍕

New York City has finally addressed the age-old struggle of trying to fit a square pizza box into a round trash can. The Parks Department has installed new trash receptacles specifically designed for pizza boxes! 🎉

These stylish bins, inspired by the classic red-and-white checkered tablecloths of New York pizza shops, are popping up in parks throughout the five boroughs.

Now, when you're enjoying a slice in the park, you can easily dispose of your pizza box in a designated bin, helping to keep parks cleaner and reduce trash overflow. Plus, this will help keep pesky rats away! 🐀

Deputy Mayor for Operations, Meera Joshi, said, "Pizza Rat will find no quarter in city parks soon enough, thanks to these pizza-ready trash cans. This is yet another creative way the Adams administration is improving quality of life for people, not pests."

The city has installed six pizza box bins in five parks, including:

• Bronx: Loreto Playground
• Brooklyn: Saratoga Park
• Manhattan: Father Demo Square
• Queens: Sobelsohn Playground
• Staten Island: Jennifer's Playground

The test location in Central Park is also still operational. It is on East Drive between The Met and The Great Lawn.

So, next time you're enjoying a slice in the park, do your part to keep NYC clean and dispose of your pizza box properly! 👍
