# Columbia University Protest Turns Violent

On Wednesday evening, a pro-Palestinian protest at Columbia University's Butler Library escalated into a violent clash between demonstrators and authorities, resulting in **dozens of arrests** and injuries.

After the protesters refused to identify themselves and disperse, Columbia University called in the NYPD.  Approximately 76 protesters were subsequently arrested.  **Two public safety officers sustained injuries** during a “crowd surge”.

# Cuomo's Unexpected NYC Mayoral Bid: An Independent Run

# NY Town Official Arrested for Shooting Lost DoorDash Driver

A New York town official, John Reilly III, is facing serious charges after allegedly shooting a DoorDash driver who was lost and seeking directions in Chester, NY. Reilly, a licensed firearms dealer, has been charged with **assault in the first degree**, **criminal possession of a weapon in the second degree**, and **criminal possession of a firearm**. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for May 9th.
