NYC Pizza Reigns Supreme: Una Pizza Napoletana Named World's Best
New York City's Lower East Side is home to the world's best pizza, according to the 50 Top Pizza organization. Una Pizza Napoletana, a restaurant known for its Neopolitan-style pizzas with thin, chewy crusts and minimal toppings, has reclaimed the top spot after falling to second place last year.
The restaurant, owned by chef Anthony Mangieri, is known for its dedication to quality ingredients and traditional techniques. Each week, only about 400 pizzas are made, and diners can only order one pizza per reservation. Reservations open two weeks in advance, and only a limited number of walk-ups are allowed.
Despite the limited availability, Una Pizza Napoletana has earned high praise from pizza experts. 50 Top Pizza praised the restaurant's "purest tradition in toppings, with extraordinary quality ingredients." They also noted the "good, tasty, true" dough that is "so personal that it probably cannot be classified."
