NYC Mayor Eric Adams Under Fire: Faith Leaders Rally Support Amid Corruption Indictment

NYC Mayor Eric Adams Leans on Faith in Face of Corruption Charges

New York City Mayor Eric Adams has found solace in faith following his indictment on federal corruption charges. Adams has maintained his innocence and vowed to stay in office.

On the first Sunday since the indictment, Mayor Adams visited Emmanuel Presbyterian Reformed Church in the Bronx and Mount Sinai United Christian Church on Staten Island, where he spoke about the importance of faith and resilience.

"I am more in my foundation of my faith than I've ever been in my life," Adams said.

The mayor has received support from prominent faith leaders like Reverend Al Sharpton, who stated, **"I've known Eric Adams 35 years. I've never known him to have any leanings toward criminality. He deserves due process."

Public Advocate Jumaane Williams, who would assume the mayor's position if Adams resigns, has said he is prepared to step in. Williams emphasized the importance of continuity in government.

Adams' legal team is preparing to challenge the charges in court, demanding evidence from the prosecution and seeking dismissal of the case.
