NYC Mayor Eric Adams Hit with More Subpoenas in Corruption Probe: What's Going On?

NYC Mayor Eric Adams Under Investigation: New Subpoenas Issued
Federal prosecutors in New York have served another round of grand jury subpoenas on Mayor Eric Adams as part of a nearly year-long corruption investigation. These subpoenas, issued last month, are seeking communications and documents related to the probe, according to sources familiar with the investigation.
The investigation focuses on whether Adams and his campaign sought illegal donations from Turkey in exchange for pressuring the fire department to rush an inspection of the new Turkish consulate. Investigators are also examining whether Adams received upgrades on Turkish Airlines flights.
Adams has consistently denied any wrongdoing. His legal team, WilmerHale, has conducted its own investigation and claims to have found no evidence of illegal conduct by the mayor.

"As a former member of law enforcement, the mayor has been clear over that last nine months that he will cooperate with any investigation underway. Nothing has changed. He expects everyone to cooperate to swiftly bring this investigation to a close," said Fabien Levy, the deputy mayor for communications.
The U.S. Attorney’s office for the Southern District of New York declined to comment on the investigation. This ongoing probe continues to draw attention as it unfolds, with implications for the political landscape of New York City.
