Homan, the former acting director of ICE, reported that the meeting was productive, stating Adams is prioritizing public safety over politics. He highlighted Adams' willingness to work with ICE to address criminal threats, national security concerns, and the issue of missing children.

The plan involves leveraging the NYPD's intelligence resources to identify and apprehend illegal immigrants involved in criminal activity. Homan believes this collaboration could have a positive domino effect on other cities facing similar challenges.

The meeting also touched on reversing policies that Homan feels hampered law enforcement's ability to handle criminal migrants. Adams' potential use of executive orders to undo previous city policies was mentioned. This includes potentially returning to Rikers Island for detention to improve community safety.

Reports suggest NYC is home to nearly 60,000 criminal migrants, raising concerns about public safety and resource allocation. Homan expressed confidence that these initiatives will make New York City safer.

Following the meeting, Homan stated that other mayors and Governor Pritzker have reached out, suggesting a potential wider impact of this collaboration on addressing the migrant crisis and improving public safety across various jurisdictions.
