NYC Man Convicted in Bizarre Colorado Bar Stabbing
A New York City man, Carlos Vega Jr., was found guilty this week for his involvement in a strange incident at a Colorado sports bar that ended with a stabbing. The altercation began when Vega's girlfriend unexpectedly licked the face of a stranger, Jessica Edwards (who has appeared on reality TV shows, "The Bachelor" and "Bachelor in Paradise").
This unusual action sparked a fight, leading to Edwards' boyfriend, Jordan Hyder, punching Vega. In response, Vega pulled out a knife and stabbed Hyder in the hand.
The Aftermath and Charges
A jury found Vega guilty of second-degree assault and two counts of menacing. He faces up to seven years in prison at his sentencing on November 12th. This isn't Vega's first run-in with the law; he was recently released from prison in New York after serving time for manslaughter.
The District Attorney emphasized Vega's criminal history and expressed concern about his potential for future violence. The DA stated: "Once again, a felon who is not from here brings his broken value system and low moral character to our County to hurt someone. Vega has proven he cannot be trusted to be free without grave risk to anyone he is near."
The incident highlights a shocking escalation from an unexpected event. The case underscores the serious consequences of violence and the importance of responsible behavior.
