NYC Instagram Model Blames Drugs & Time Travel for Deadly Miami Crash

An Instagram model from New York, Maecee Marie Lathers, is facing serious charges after allegedly causing a fatal three-car crash in downtown Miami. Lathers, 24, confessed to being under the influence of “pink cocaine,” a dangerous synthetic drug, when she ran a red light and crashed into a Range Rover, killing two people, including a father.

Lathers, whose Instagram account features her posing in revealing clothes and bikinis, told police she was “from the future” and had a “crystal ball.” She was also reportedly affiliated with two modeling agencies and her Instagram bio read “(money) on my (brain)” and “dope in real life.”

The crash resulted in the deaths of Abraham Ismael, who was driving the Suzuki, and a rear passenger. Ismael’s wife, Juanita Hernández, was injured and left unable to work.

Lathers attempted to flee the scene but was stopped by bystanders. She was later found vomiting and admitted to being under the influence. She appeared in court on Friday wearing a green anti-suicide vest and was ordered to be held on a $140,000 bond.

Lathers is facing eight felony charges, including driving without a license resulting in death or serious injury and leaving the scene of a crash resulting in death or serious injuries.

The judge stated that Lathers is an “absolute danger to the community” and if she posts bond, she will be placed on house arrest with a “No Driving Order.”

Hernandez, Ismael's wife, started a GoFundMe page to help support their 16-year-old son, who is now left without his father.
