NYC Drone Mystery: Lawmakers Demand Answers

Mysterious drone sightings over New York City and New Jersey have sparked outrage and demands for answers from lawmakers. Residents have reported numerous sightings over military bases, key points of interest, and residential neighborhoods, leaving many baffled and concerned.

Staten Island officials, including Borough President Vito Fossella and State Senator Jessica Scarcella-Spanton, held a press briefing demanding action from the NYPD and federal authorities. They highlighted the frustration of constituents who are seeking answers to the ongoing drone activity. Fossella even shared a video from a neighbor showing a drone near their home.

The NYPD, in conjunction with the FBI's Joint Terrorism Task Force, is investigating the recent sightings, including those reported in the South Bronx and Queens. Meanwhile, Senators Chuck Schumer, Kirsten Gillibrand (NY), Cory Booker, and Andy Kim (NJ) have sent a letter to the Department of Homeland Security, FBI, and FAA, expressing their alarm and demanding a federal briefing.

<p>While the White House claims that many reported sightings are likely misidentified planes, lawmakers express growing frustration with the perceived lack of action from federal authorities. Some, like Senator Richard Blumenthal (CT), are even calling for the drones to be shot down. </p>
