Driver Arrested for 2019 Fatal Hit-and-Run in Queens
Nearly five years after a tragic incident on Christmas Day 2019, a driver has been apprehended for a fatal hit-and-run in Queens. Ravindra Dharamjit, 26, was arrested and charged with manslaughter, criminally negligent homicide, leaving the scene of an accident resulting in death, and reckless driving.
Dharamjit is accused of driving a Toyota truck and striking Ainsley Dalrymple, 67, who was crossing Rockaway Boulevard near 114th Street. Witnesses reported seeing Dalrymple lying between two parked cars with severe head and body trauma. He was transported to Jamaica Hospital Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.
Dharamjit fled the scene but was eventually apprehended in Guyana.
