NYC CEO Murder: Suspect Flees City After Midtown Shooting
A person of interest in the murder of UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson has reportedly left New York City. Police believe the suspect, who checked into a Manhattan hostel under a fake name, may have taken a bus to Atlanta.
The Investigation
The suspect was seen on surveillance footage at the Port Authority Bus Terminal before taking a cab to the vicinity of the Hilton Midtown, where the shooting took place. He then took another cab to the hostel, briefly checking out before returning.
Police released photos of the suspect at the hostel, where he reportedly had a flirtatious interaction with the front desk clerk. This interaction, captured on security footage, is considered a significant clue. The NYPD is working with Greyhound buses to determine if the suspect used identification when purchasing his ticket.
What's Next?
The Atlanta Police Department is assisting in the investigation. The NYPD is following up on all leads in their efforts to apprehend the suspect. This is a developing story.
