NYC Bride-to-Be Devastated: Groom Killed in Wrong-Way Crash Days Before Wedding

Tragedy Strikes NYC Bride-to-Be: Groom Killed in Wrong-Way Crash Days Before Wedding
Shauntea Weaver's heart is shattered. Just days before her wedding, a horrific wrong-way crash on the Henry Hudson Parkway took the life of her fiancé, Kirk Walker, Jr. The crash also claimed the life of his 40-year-old cousin.
The devastating incident occurred early Saturday morning when a pickup truck, traveling southbound in the northbound lanes, collided head-on with a Dodge sedan carrying Walker and his cousin.
Authorities are searching for the driver of the pickup truck, who fled the scene. One passenger was apprehended, but the driver remains at large.
Weaver, heartbroken and struggling to process the tragedy, expressed her grief and anger. "I feel like I'm watching a fictitious TV show. Doesn't seem real to me," she said. She also expressed her hope that the driver faces justice. "I have faith in God. I hope you suffer the way I'm suffering," she added.
Walker's family and friends gathered in Bergenfield, New Jersey, on Sunday to offer condolences and support instead of celebrating the couple's wedding. Walker is survived by three children, who are now without a father.
This devastating loss serves as a stark reminder of the fragility of life and the importance of safe driving. Our thoughts are with Shauntea Weaver and the families who are grieving the loss of their loved ones.
