NYC Apartments for Under $200,000? It's Possible (But There's a Catch)

Own a Piece of the Upper West Side for Under $200,000
Dreaming of living in NYC? It might be closer than you think! The city is selling apartments in a pre-war building on West 80th Street, just steps from Central Park, starting at a jaw-dropping $174,000.

Yes, you read that right. You could own a piece of the Big Apple for less than $200,000. But there's a catch. These apartments are being sold through a lottery, and only those making less than 120% of the area's median income are eligible to enter. That means a household of two people would need a combined income of less than $150,000 to qualify.
The building will be converted into a co-op with 17 units, ranging from studios between 240-343 square feet to one-bedroom units between 466-544 square feet. The city states that these apartments must be the owners' primary residence, meaning you can't buy them as an investment property.
Take a look at photos of what some of these units look like:

Don't miss your chance to live in the heart of NYC!
