New York Film Festival Unveils Main Slate: Cannes and Berlin Winners Headline 2024 Lineup
The New York Film Festival has announced its Main Slate for 2024, featuring a diverse lineup of 32 films from 18 countries. The festival, a cornerstone of the cinematic calendar, will take place from September 27 to October 14 at Lincoln Center and four partner venues across the city.
Cannes and Berlin Festival winners dominate the lineup. Payal Kapadia’s All We Imagine as Light (Grand Prize) and Sean Baker’s Anora (Palme d’Or) both take center stage. Mati Diop’s Dahomey (Berlinale Golden Bear) is another highlight. David Cronenberg brings his latest, The Shrouds, to its U.S. premiere.
The festival’s Artistic Director, Dennis Lim, highlights the films’ engagement with reality and their potential to “reckon with, intervene in, and reimagine the world.”
