New York City's Top of the Rock Gets a Sky-High Upgrade: The Skylift Experience is Now Open

Soaring Above NYC: Top of the Rock Unveils New Skylift Experience
Get ready for a breathtaking view of New York City like never before. The iconic Top of the Rock at 30 Rockefeller Center has just opened a new open-air attraction called Skylift.
This revolutionary experience takes visitors on a revolving platform that rises nearly 900 feet above street level, offering unobstructed 360-degree views of the city. Designed by architect Richard J. DeMarco and experiential designer THG Creative, the Skylift complements the Art Deco architecture of Rockefeller Center with its streamlined design and marble-like tiers.
Here's a glimpse of what to expect:
- A slow, graceful ascent: The Skylift gently lifts 30 feet upward from the observatory deck, then rotates counterclockwise for several minutes, providing a panoramic perspective of the city's skyline.
- Capture unforgettable memories: Multiple wide-angle cameras capture photos of visitors during their Skylift journey, which can be retrieved via QR code.
- Illuminated at night: The Skylift's 96 LED pixel flutes create a dazzling light show, which can be customized for special occasions.
Skylift is the latest addition to the Top of the Rock's modernization, joining The Beam (an interactive photo experience) and the Welcome Gallery, which features an immersive theater show about the history of Rockefeller Center.
Get your ticket! Tickets to Skylift begin at $35 per person and are an optional add-on to the Top of the Rock General Admission and Express Passes. The Skylift experience is included in all VIP and VIP Rock Passes.
Getting there: The entrance to Skylift is located along West 50th Street between Fifth and Sixth Avenues. Subway access is conveniently located beneath 30 Rockefeller Center along Sixth Avenue at the 47-50th Streets-Rockefeller Center station (B, D, F, and M trains).
