These 'No Kings' demonstrations, timed to coincide with a military parade in Washington D.C. (which also happens to be the President's birthday), aim to counter what organizers call lavish displays designed to boost Trump's ego.
Organizers claim nearly 2,000 events are planned in over 1,500 cities, with New York and Los Angeles expected to be hotspots.

ICE Protests and Concerns:
These protests are also fueled by ongoing concerns over the Trump administration's immigration policies, particularly regarding ICE's actions. Demonstrators allege collaboration between NYPD and ICE, a claim the NYPD denies, stating cooperation is limited to criminal investigations. Recent reports detail federal authorities detaining migrants at routine court appearances, leading to case dismissals and expedited removal proceedings.
