JetBlue Axes NYC Flights: Austin, Houston, Miami & More Routes Cut!

JetBlue Cuts Several NYC Flights

JetBlue has announced significant changes to its flight network, cutting or altering a dozen less profitable routes globally. This includes several cuts at its New York City hub.

Key NYC route cuts:

  • Austin
  • Houston
  • Miami
  • Milwaukee

The airline will also not resume flights between New York and London Gatwick Airport. Additionally, JetBlue is ending all flights to San Jose, CA, and discontinuing service between Westchester and Charleston and between Jacksonville and Fort Lauderdale.

JetBlue cited its "JetForward strategic plan" as the reason for these changes, focusing on redeploying resources to high-demand markets. The airline plans to announce how it will redeploy this capacity in the coming weeks.

Other changes:

  • Flights between Boston and Phoenix, New York and Tulum, and Boston and Grenada will become winter seasonal routes.
  • Service between New York and Paris remains at one daily flight.
  • In Seattle, JetBlue will use only Core-only aircraft.

These route changes come after JetBlue quietly raised baggage prices and implemented peak and off-peak pricing for checked bags. The airline also officially terminated its planned merger with Spirit Airlines earlier this year.
