Horrific Fall on NYC's Upper East Side Leaves Elderly Woman Decapitated
An 81-year-old woman tragically fell from a high-rise apartment building on Manhattan's Upper East Side on Saturday afternoon, October 12th. Witnesses at the scene have reported a gruesome scene, stating that the woman struck a fence on her way down, resulting in her decapitation and the severing of her arm.
The NYPD confirmed the incident, stating that the woman fell from the building's 28th floor. First responders pronounced her dead at the scene. The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner will determine the cause of death, but the investigation is ongoing.
"I pulled up just as she was lying there, she had no head,” a resident of the building told the New York Post. “The head and the arm were clean cut off on the other side. They ended up on the terrace.”
A 23-year-old witness also described the horrific scene: "Everyone started rushing toward the body but she was gone,” they recalled. “Her body landed there but her head and leg hit the fence there. You can see it’s bent, there were clothes and blood stuck there."
This tragic event has left the community shaken, raising questions about the circumstances surrounding the woman's fall. As the investigation continues, we will keep you updated with any further developments.
