His lawyer, Imran H. Ansari, describes the conditions as "deplorable" and alleges that Weinstein's Eighth Amendment rights are being violated.
Shocking Allegations of Neglect
Ansari paints a grim picture of Weinstein's treatment. He claims Weinstein was found with blood spatter on his clothes, possibly from IVs, and had not received clean clothes or underwear for weeks. These conditions are particularly concerning given Weinstein's leukemia diagnosis.

Ansari argues that Weinstein's basic medical care is being neglected and that he is being denied crucial medication and proper treatment for his serious health conditions.
Rikers Island Under Scrutiny
Ansari further alleges that the conditions at Rikers Island amount to cruel and unusual punishment, violating Weinstein's constitutional rights. He stresses the need to hold responsible parties accountable for the mistreatment and to ensure that Weinstein receives the medical care he requires. The city has yet to respond to the accusations.
