While no charges have been filed, the FBI seized electronic devices from both homes. The mayor’s chief counsel, Lisa Zornberg, stated that the mayor and his staff are not considered targets of the investigation. Mayor Adams, a former law enforcement officer, has emphasized the importance of all his team members adhering to the law.

This incident comes after previous FBI raids on other associates of Mayor Adams. The recent searches, however, seem unrelated to the investigation into whether Adams received donations from Turkey in exchange for official favors.
