Etihad Park: NYCFC's New Stadium Gets a Name & a $6B Redevelopment!

Etihad Park: NYCFC's New Home
New York City FC and Etihad Airways just announced a major deal: NYC's first-ever soccer-specific stadium will be called Etihad Park!
This 20-year naming rights agreement marks a significant milestone for the club and its long-time partner, Etihad. The stadium, located in Willets Point, Queens, is set to open before the 2027 MLS regular season.

Antonoaldo Neves, Etihad Airways CEO, echoed the sentiment, emphasizing the alignment of values between the airline and the club.
More Than Just a Stadium
Etihad Park is part of a larger $6.1 billion Willets Point redevelopment project. This includes:
- Approximately 25,000 seats in the fully electric stadium
- 2,500 new affordable housing units
- A new 650-seat public school
- A new hotel
- Over 150,000 square feet of public open space
The project is expected to create 1,550 permanent jobs and 14,200 construction jobs.
Etihad's commitment extends beyond the naming rights. They've been instrumental in supporting NYCFC's community initiatives, including the New York City Soccer Initiative (NYCSI), which has created 50 mini-pitches across the city.
